This immersive tour invites you to retrace the footsteps of J.R.R. Tolkien, visiting the places that fed his creative genius and shaped the world of Middle-earth.
Begin your day at the enigmatic Rollright Stones, a mysterious Neolithic stone circle older than Stonehenge. Here, learn how these ancient monuments may have inspired the haunting Barrow-downs—resting place of kings and spirits in The Lord of the Rings—and soak in the mystical atmosphere of a site steeped in local legend and folklore.

- Famed as the “Tolkien Door.” Local legend says Tolkien visited here and drew inspiration for the Doors of Durin at Moria

The information he shared was intriguing and interesting to both our children (11 and 15) and us adults. Arjun is a truly gifted guide and a lovely human being as well. The sights themselves were for the most part easy on the eye and full of history, including places such as the guildhall art gallery and st Lawrence jewry church. We concluded at the bank of England where the guide explained in depth the symbolism of the twelve ornate lampposts in the square, each one representing one of the twelve most important ancient guilds of the City.
